PIP to Adult Disability Payment advice

Hi there,
We live in Scotland and my Mum is currently on the lowest amount of mobility only PIP and currently receives £27 per week. She got her PIP reward reviewed early last year, as on the initial reward letter it said she was awarded PIP until 2023, so not sure why it was reviewed so early? She has high blood pressure, and has had vasovagal episodes triggered by stress. Over the last month things have been getting worse but she does not receive the daily living component of PIP and now needs a lot more care. How do I go about applying for this? I have made an application to Adult Disability but they just called today to say that she receives PIP so can not look at her application until she has been transferred over to Adult Disablity Payment. Do I call PIP and ask for another review, or how do I apply for extra PIP?

First step is to look at the PIP activities and descriptors to see what your mum might score. 8 points are needed for a standard award.
The scores are not based on diagnosis but on the care needs around the PIP activities.

If you can, get advice from your local advice charity.
Gather medical (and other) evidence to support your claim.
If you are sure that the additional care needs meet the threshold for a Daily Living award and a continuing Mobility award, then ring PIP and ask for a new assessment as her conditions have worsened. Be aware that at this new assessment her current award could be removed if the assessor thinks an award is no longer merited.

disabled-people-and-carers/pip/help-with-your-claim/how-decisions-are-made/OP said they live in Scotland so any changes will mean a transfer to ADP. If a client reports a change in their condition to DWP after 29 August 2022, this will start the transfer. This is so they will not have a review of their PIP with DWP. Instead we’ll review their Adult Disability Payment.
