As I understand it, there is only 90 days to pay the negative balance back after which time PayPal automatically passes over to debt collectors. What I'm unsure about is whether PayPal also adds interest to the negative balance too. If so, may be wise to settle pronto to avoid paying more than you're obliged to.0

Maybe register it as stolen and have it blocked in the meantime, while you send a letter of action to the buyer......?
unless I can get it from my iCloud account?0 -
If a chargeback is made for unauthorised use on PayPal then seller can defend it, I haven’t done one as a seller for over a year so when I get home I’ll check nothing has changed.
The seller protection covers sellers if they follow the requirements, send to address given by PayPal within 7 days and if a chargeback is made you need to provide proof of postage showing the address , PayPal then take the loss. So assuming the t and cs on PayPal haven’t changed the. phone them immediately and point them to the proof of posting, address etc and insist they provide the seller protection.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. However you cannot be £1,300 down.
Before you sold the phone you had a £600 phone.
After you sold and despatched the phone you had £600 via Paypal.
If you repay Paypal you will be £600 or a mobile phone down depending on which way you want to look at it. You will not be down £600 and a mobile phone down.
I have sent you a PM re Paypal.A man walked into a car showroom.
He said to the salesman, “My wife would like to talk to you about the Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
Salesman said, “We haven't got a Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
The man replied, “You have now mate".4 -

I hope the name and address you have for him is genuine. If it isn't, your money and phone are long gone.0 -

AS above just phone paypal, insist on your seller protection rights
What is PayPal Seller Protection?
Am I protected when selling with PayPal? - Which?
"If the buyer is making a false claim, sellers using PayPal are protected by PayPal Seller Protection and shouldn't lose out - provided that they've satisfied eligibility requirements."
This is the IMPORTANT one and the one you need to forcibly point out to paypal
Dispute Resolution for Sellers | PayPal UK
If the card issuer decides in favor of the customer:The customer will receive a full refund. If you provide sufficient evidence and qualify for PayPal Seller Protection we can cover your loss on eligible transactions.**

I did one last year , buyer on facebook bought a widget from me, i sent an invoice stating goods, she paid and I posted and she later claimed fraud with some very garbled messages to me, not PayPal, about a family member stealing her passwords, but I didn’t lose a penny.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
