Second pay as you go esim

Due to all the 3g networks being switched off in my area (and no 5g plans in place to replace it), I now have lots of network drop outs, where areas have no coverage whatsoever (where it used to fall back to 3g).  As a result, I am thinking of getting a second SIM on a different network.

What I am hoping someone sells, and I might being optimistic, is a eSIM that doesn't have a 30 day expiry, just expired when the data or included messages and minutes have been used up and needs topping back up.

Anyone sell something like this?

  • Be helpful to know who your current supplier is.

Lyca offer eSIM but their service has become risible in the last few months.

Could look at Giffgaff, fairly expensive PAYG rates but as long as you use the service at least every 180 days it won't expire.

Officially, EE don't have a PAYG eSIM product (nor do Vodafone, O2, 3). Be interesting to see if you could revert a PAYM eSIM to PAYG in the way you describe.

EE PAYM is 40p/min, Giffgaff is 25p for calls.

Which network do you main SIM use?

I knew Lyca and Giffgaff do eSIM.

Have you consider to change your main number to eSIM, then the back up one with physical SIM?

I'm currently with Lebara on Vodaphone network,  it since the 3dlg switch off, coverage is now dire.

All networks are bad, just in different areas.  There isn't. A single good network where I live, hence the 2nd SIM option.

It would be as much as a problem if Lebara WiFi calling actually worked...  It doesn't.
