My wife has a Secure Trust 1 year fixed cash ISA that is due to mature shortly. Ordinarily we would open up a couple of new ISAs and transfer half the balance to each but we've discovered some problems.
1. Secure Trust do not do partial transfers.
2. We can't pre arrange to transfer the maturing ISA until after it has actually matured because it will get a new account number on maturity from Secure Trust.

Not exactly ideal and guaranteed to delay any transfers.

Unfortunately I was abroad when she opened it so missed the opportunity to point her in another direction. But it highlights the fact that there is far more to selecting a suitable cash ISA than just picking a decent interest rate.
