ADSL Filder and internet cable

I have been attempting to set up a new Netgear router to my desktop computer.  The cable which comes with the router to connect to my ADSL filter appears to be 8 pin and is therefore not compatible.  The cable for my old router to connect to the filter is 4 pin so is not compatible with the new router.

I cannot work out if I can purchase an adsl filter to accommodate the 8 pins so any help/advice welcome please.

A picture of the cable would help.

That is the ethernet cable that connects your router to the FTTP ONT box or your computer to the router.  Does your new router not have the ADSL port on the back ?  A picture of the back or model number would help. Did you buy the router yourself or was it supplied by your ISP ?  If you do not have the ADSL port on the back you will not be able to connect to the filter / telephone socket

I am replacing one Netgear router with another Netgear router, both purchased by myself..  My original router connects from the router to an ADSL filter with a 4 pin cable.  The new router has all the correct ports but as I stated in my original post the cable supplied is not compatible with my ADSL filter.  The cable from my old router is 4 pin cable and is not compatible with the new router.  It does not fit the port on the back of the new router nor the filter.  The ethernet cable supplied with the new router is compatible. The new router is a Netgear Nighthawk AX12.  I purchased the new router from Costco on a Black Friday deal.

Unfortunately that router is not directly compatible with ADSL internet.

Thanks for that, much appreciated that I have the answer.  I obviously didn't do enough research with my limited knowledge,  I will return it to Costco.
