O2 Travel Bolt on
Options
I have a 0 cap and international call ban set on my phone, Whilst on holiday I was charged 6 times (£36) travel bolt on because someone called me and left a voicemail.
On my return I called to complain, firstly every time the customer service did not understand my complaint, they just passed me to another, it happened 4 times (all international call centres) 5th time I was passed to a uk centre. I asked why I was charged when I have a 0 cap and why the bolt on was put on without my request. I was told it’s their policy. I complained that the actual charges you show was less the a £ for all them, so why am I being charged £36 and threaten to take my complaint to the ombudsman. I was told they will refund me. I wait to see if it happens on my next bill

It's a common pitfall while roaming, covered in the MSE advice article:(Simple tips no. 5 - 'Turn voicemail off')Switching off the voicemail service before travel is the only certain way to avoid being stiffed, with many networks. You may be able to set up your voicemail announcement to tell callers that they should send an SMS (always free to receive) or use WhatsApp etc.O2 no doubt have terms to allow them to make the charges you have suffered, please let us know if they do in fact refund you, probably as a 'goodwill gesture'.
