Possibly. If so, does the design have a name (like G4 gas meters)?Netexporter said:I think it is just a standard design, like G4 gas meters, that any manufacturer can make.

Executive summary: My gas meter is bolloxed, EDF don't care, Energy Ombudsman is toothless.

No, same model on the same brand I now discover; only the brand name has changed. At least according to this:Netexporter said:If so, does the design have a name

That's interesting. I'm reasonably certain I'd seen visually identical meters with other branding, too. Still, the world of work is now a distant memory, so I might just have imagined to whole thing.1

No, and I ve seen I think three attributed to the exact same digital electric meter which has the worst record I ve known for going blank screen. I can t remember the model number but its prob the cheapest available electric meter , small white , mainly by Ampy , but I ve seen same one under Siemens and Landys Gyr..I checked the cost one year...a tenner lol . This meter has caused more problems than any other. I met a bloke who worked for Northern Powergrid who told me they got a bin full of themReed_Richards said:I've never understood why what appears to be the same electricity meter can come branded as if from several different manufacturers. From the article it seems Ampy is the older branding, then taken over by (? Or perhaps rose from the ashes like a Phoenix! as) L+G.EssexHebridean said:They are all the same company though aren't they, so just a case of the branding being different depending on which factory makes them?
I don't know where Siemens comes into it though, you'd expect them to have been at least half-decent.0 -
I've found an old thread that links Siemens with Ampy/Landis & Gyr:

Siemens is generally a reputable company so I don't know how they got involved.Reed0
