easyJet flight cancelled in advance, but rebooking will cost me more

Hi all,
I couldn't see a thread for easyJet cancellations, apologies if I missed it.
I had flights booked from UK to Lisbon in January. The outbound flight has been cancelled. easyJet don't have another flight on the same day, but I wanted to travel on that day and wanted a seven day trip. If I cancel the entire booking (two flights) and rebook with another airline, it would cost about £100 more. Is there anything I can do, or is requesting a refund for both flights the best I can do?
Many thanks

According to the regulations, EasyJet are responsible for rebooking you onto another flight "under comparable transport conditions", which is interpreted by the CAA as meaning one on the same day if available, even if that's with another airline, so if another airline flies that route on the same day, you can theoretically insist on EasyJet booking you onto that (or committing to reimbursing you if you do that).0
