My rented flat was built 2006/07 so then meters are 16/17 years old if they were brand new when fitted
I'm in a block of 7 and only one is smart
So when can I expect to be required to have a smart meter (not that I'm bothered) I have been in smart before this
Here you go, check your electricity meter model on there.
Thank you

The electric meter was made in 2005. The gas meter appears to be 2014.0

Just a replacement, I suspect.

I just checked a years readings and they fluctuate between 9 and 12 kWh per week since February and consistently through the year
That doesn't mean it's accurate though0 -
Haha so what would you recommend ?
Get a smart meter.

who will fit a shiny new meter of their choice, at their own expense.
Alternatively, if you have a sentimental attachment to that particular box of electronice, you could employ an electrician to fit your own meter, between that Ampy and your fusebox, to give you an independent check of the readings. Your electrician will be able to fit another dumb meter, something like an Emlite ECA2 (link).Or you can chance it and hope it doesn't go wrong before the smart meter rollout reaches you!

I have lived in a property for 2 years with one no problem except for the agent telling me the wrong gas meter which I spotted the mistake
What I do believe in is
If it ain't broke don't fix it
Well now you tell me it could be broke and it is 18 years old, I will have a word with Octopus who I am on a fix with1
