Help welcome: wrong number displaying with texts

Switched from Vodafone to ID mobile 6 weeks ago. Number swap via PAC all went smoothly and all has been fine ever since until this week when texts sent appeared on receiving phone as being sent via the temporary number used only for a day or two whilst the number swap happened. Calls and Whatsapp display the right number. The problem seems to have happened before to others and Google suggests changing a setting on the mobile but the menu route it suggests does not exist. I'm thinking of a replacement SIM but any other thoughts welcome.

What make/model of mobile?  Apple phones have a setting where a number is stored for FaceTime and iMessage.

Open messages app, click on top right icon and choose settings. Look for RCS chats and click on that.You should see a number, if that number is the temporary number, turn off RCS chats reboot then turn RCS  back on,  google should find and verify the number that belongs to the sim. This is for an android phone. If you use SMS to send texts there would not have been a problem, when you use RCS the temporary number   needs changing in settings

The phone is a Samsung A52. The RCS Chats option is not available(as far as I can see)
