Declined for hsbc advance account but new texts indicate we may well be accepted for an account?

Applied for the hsbc offer recently and received a letter saying I wasn’t eligible due to poor credit score. Also recieved a text on the 3rd November saying I can’t get the advance account but can apply for the basic account.

But since then received texts thanking me for applying for the advance account and we‘re busy and working to get your advance account up and running .

Yet on the 29/11 recieved another text thanking me for applying for the advance account and we’re currently processing my request to receive the account incentive and we'll be in touch by 4th December with an update. My husband has had the same texts and letter also.

This all seems very odd and wondering whether we’ve actually have been declined or they’re going to accept our application. Has this happened to any of you?

I applied for a HSBC account a while ago: filled out all the online forms etc to then they say that my application will be processed and they’ll be in touch. Hadn’t heard a bean from them (not even an acknowledgement email or text to say they received my application) and thought that it might have just timed out so applied again. Same thing happened again so I called them. They said that they’re really busy and will be in touch.  They suggested that I go to my local branch. My local branch is “hub like” branch. When I was a customer with them many moons ago, it’s was all online or telephone banking so i
moved. Rarely could you speak to a person, let alone get a face to face appointment. I’m more tech savvy now and decided to take advantage of their incentive as a second bank account. The attitude the adviser gave me on the phone was appalling so told them to cancel my applications. When they checked, they couldn’t locate my applications. I couldn’t believe they were still working on an outdated system: considering everything is online these days, HSBC are still not 100% real time digital. Move forward a month and now they keep texting me saying that they are processing my application. Not interest and not wasting my time with them. Incentive or no incentive.

The whole world is inploding with the amount of stuff we do on line and data storage. Seems everyone has glitches all the time. AI taking over? Anyway, I once tried applying for HSBC account and got rejected coz I only earned £23k at the time, even though I had over £100k in savings and shares. Sometimes they just don't want you I guess.
