Shell energy re-billed me at a higher price
Hi, I've just gone through a switch away from Shell to Octopus. I've just had my final bill from Shell, where they have cancelled my previous bill (October) and recharged me all of October and November up until the switch was finished, all at a higher price! I am not on a fixed tariff of any sort and never have been. My tariff has changed from the last bill (which is the one that was cancelled) of "Flexible 12 Direct Debit ebill" to the new bill of "Flexible 11 Direct Debit ebill", which I'm assuming is what has prompted the change in unit and standing charge. It's only a slight difference, a higher charge of £8.64. But I don't think that's the point. I tried speaking to online chat, but they were very unhelpful and didn't seem to understand the point I was making. So I just wanted to ask about it on here before spending more time trying to get this sorted.
They've already billed me for October, so surely they're not allowed to re-bill me a different cost, especially when I didn't even start the switch until 11th November?

It is happening to others too, my reply on another thread:I am having the same argument with them, so far they have tried -
telling me that I was on the wrong tariff,
then they asked for a screenshot of an email that I received mid September that showed that they had been billing me correctly (luckily I had kept it),
then they tried to tell me that they had only billed me incorrectly for 6 days in September, no they had not
The latest is the 60 days change of supplier and again, I have shown them that this is wrong, the email that I received states this only applies within 20 days.
I have now been passed on to the 6th person who is going to consult with management!'We can get over being poor, but it takes longer to get over being ignorant'

So what unit rate and standing charge was shown on your original October bill?
And what unit rate and standing charge is shown on the new october bill?

Just in case you're in still in dispute with Shell Hydra101 there are quite a few of us in the same position. You can find more on the thread sproggi mentioned: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6489065/shell-energy-final-bill-overcharge-warning.
