Why did you agree to Mediation?  That's the opposite of the advice in the NEWBIES thread and it's really worrying that you don't seem to be following it.

We've never seen your defence. We were never told you had a court claim or asked to help you with it.

Did you use our Template Defence?  If not, why? And what exactly did your defence say (verbatim please)?

What is your Witness Statement bundle looking like?  You are reading the NEWBIES thread second post and are ready for WS stage?
Thanks for this. I came to this forum late in the game and have as a result made different decisions at points, narrative below.

original pcn received via post 15 or 16 days after alleged contravention

i appealed and appealed via ias - i know appreciate this was an error when the response was mostly just "aha, so you were the driver!"

Received several follow up letters purporting to be from a whole manner of organisations / lawyers

i refused to pay and told them so - emailed the ceo of excel parking services ltd and I also emailed the ceo of premier inn (which is where I was staying while parked). Premier inn say they have no partnership with excel and have actually changed the wording in their website to loosely discourage or at least inform customers about feethams leisure centre car park. I emailed my mp and Darlingtons. Former didn't get back to me and the latter said they couldn't do anything because I am not a constituent.

Letter about court proceedings arrived, I responded via mcol.

    i emailed directions questionnaire

I received an email about next steps with mediation arranged

i answered the phone at the time they allocated for me. I kind of hoped that excel wouldn't engage and it would put me in good stead for court. Mediator seemed to encourage need to settle, I offered a divert which the mediator signed at and excel rejected (they wanted £155). The mediator said it will now go to court. She kept asking me what I wanted and seemed determined for me to say "I want to go to court". I don't want to but I also am not going to pay!

Have now read the newbies announcement and some of the links. Haven't been asked for a witness statement yet.

Looking at previous cases, e.g. beavis (not unreasonable sum as it discourages overstay and facilitates free 2 hours) I'm struggling to find any similar cases to mine. I was caught out by anpr and everything was sent to me after I had already paid (too late in their eyes) so the case above doesn't really apply - my paying late but in full literally impacts no one, although I appreciate that this is probably not enough alone to see me win.

any similar cases involving the use of anpr to catch out drivers who have our to park retrospectively?

If you have a hearing date then you have.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

No hearing date yet. Meditation only "failed" a couple of days ago.
