River Island refusing to give me a refund

Hi all
I purchased a jacket worth £89. It did not fit so I returned it using the Evri delivery service, following their instructions. I got an email from Evri stating it had been delivered to River Island.
Waited a couple of weeks an no refund. I called and they said I need to send proof of this being sent as that's their policy. Funny, as it wasn't required when initiating the return or when they received it.
Sent them the email confirmation and they are now saying I need the physical receipt, which I don't have (as I threw it away when I got the email confirmation of it being received).
What are my options? I purchased on my debit card.

Do you have anything that shows either what address the parcel was sent to or something (such as the online tracking) to show what address it was delivered to?In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0

Sorry OP, what I mean is do you have anything that shows the parcel was either sent or delivered to their actual address?
Did they provide the courier label? In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0 -
