LHA rates?

Good evening,
We currently rent in Southend, our LHA rate is £795. Our rent is £850. We have 2 children under 5.
I am confused with the announcement of the 30th percentile rent.
Is there any figures of what the new LHA rate will be?
Would be incredible news if our £850 would be completely covered from April next year.
Thank you,

EDIT: Sorry, I thought you said Scotland - and it turns out they're all this year's rates anyway. *facepalm*0 -

30th percentile in 2023 was £824.99 for Southend 2-bed.Figures for 2024 have not been published yet, but are likely to be higher.0

Oh my goodness, I totally misread that!poppy12345 said:
And it turns out they're 2023/24 rates as well, which is no help. I did think it odd that they'd been published already.
Sorry OP!

I too am confused about what 30th percentile even means.0 -
Southend is a lovely wee town on the Kintyre peninsula in the county of Argyll and Bute. I am envious of anyone lucky enough to live there.
Do you also have a Southend down south in England?1 -
According to my Ordnance Survey map app there are 10 Southends, 8 in England and 2 in Scotland.Alderbank said:Southend is a lovely wee town on the Kintyre peninsula in the county of Argyll and Bute. I am envious of anyone lucky enough to live there.

30th percentile means they look at the rent prices for each area, and then use the lowest 30% of current rent prices as an average on what to use as payment for the housing supplement.PinstripePhantom said:

They line up a list of rental costs from low to high, and the rental cost which is 30% of the way through the list is the LHA rate. Effectively, given the LHA rate, you should be able to afford 30% of all rental properties in the local area for that amount of bedrooms.4
