Thanks MF - I think the cat will be alright for just one night away. It sometimes disappears at least that long itself. You're right about not pressurising myself on calories. Just need to find the right balance. I'm still losing weight.
Thanks Jwil - it will be good to get away from these four walls. Also I've not seen my Dad since he broke a bone in January - and it is still not healed so would be good to see him. My parents are early 80s.SandyShores said:Just wondering if you had thought about shakes savingholmes...
Another one here loving all the red robin plants around at the moment, so much that I'm seriously thinking of buying another if I can find a space for it. We are going to train ours into a tree shape too so I've snipped a few lower branches off this year, but its only year 2 so haven't gone too far. I'm doing the same with our ceanothus....
At my last house I'd trained my red robin to arch over a bench and it was stunning. I love the idea of a standard ceonothus too. A couple fell into my trolley yesterday!!powerspowers said:Sorry to read you’ve been unwell SH. Hope you have a lovely Easter with family xx

Well yesterday I had a coffee in my new fave garden centre. They do a nice cafetiere decaf coffee and the cafe has a view of hills so lovely. I bought an orchid to take to my Mum's and a Stephanotis and a couple of pretty house plant pots for me. I love the white star like flowers and the scent is heavenly. That plus the coffee came to over £50.
I then had a £10.50 off £70 spend off at BnQ so went to their garden section again where they also had 20% off outdoor plants. I got a mix of plants from the main and clearance section so got some lovely deals.
For £66 I bought:- a semi-dwarf apple tree - James Gleave - it's close to 2m tall in its pot. I'll likely trim its top to encourage it to develop more side shoots
- 3 Anenome Blanda with blue star like flowers
- 6 strawberry plants. I have a raised bed next to the kitchen window which I'll plant that in alongside existing herbs etc
- 20 plant pansy mix
- Ceonothus Yankee Point - about 1m tall (evergreen with blue flowers)
- 2 half price wicker basket arrangements that I'll give family for Easter
- A half price small Ceonotus Repens (evergreen with blue flowers)
- A half price small camelia (evergreen - acid loving - with red flowers)
- Small forest flame (evergreen with variegated leaves that turns red in Autumn and has white flowers)
- Indoor Arthurium - a plant with glossy green leaves and bright red leaf style flowers with yellow stamens
I've seen rainbows come and go across my view which is always nice. I'm going to have a jacket potato and some chilli next and then see if the weather is kind enough to let me back in the garden. It's currently raining again.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Unfortunately when I went back in to the garden I slid off the raised lawn and down the wooden steps hurting my rump slightly and my left wrist a lot. Went to bed for a couple of hours from shock. Then went downstairs for gammon roast dinner.
