TV licence for Covid Inquiry livestream?

Does anyone know if I would need a TV licence to watch the livestream of the Covid Inquiry on either their website or on YouTube?

Can’t find any info on this anywhere and don’t want to fall foul of the law by accident.

They’re streaming every day of the inquiry live for a number of hours per day over a number of months.

TIA folks!

Found pretty easily but it seems answer is yes you'd need one if watching on youtube
  • No.   You don't generally need a TV Licence to watch Youtube, despite the wording on the TVL website.

You only need one for content from TV Channels that are streaming live on YT, concurrently with a broadcast channel.

So, Sky News live stream needs a Licence to view on Youtube.   But not content from YT channels that are not broadcast TV channels.

That’s so helpful, thank you! 😊
