JNBank seemed to be offering a good interest rate so I applied for an account. To fund it, to make sure it all worked, I just transferred £1 from my normal bank to my new account. That was over two days ago. It left my bank immediately but apparently has still to arrive at JNBank. I've just tried ringing them but gave up after 55 minutes (though they did say that my call was important to them!!!) For the last 15 minutes the message said that there was a 2 minute wait!! I'm so relieved I only transferred £1!

It's not uncommon for transfers under the account minimum to be stopped and sent back a few days later. Often you do get some form of notification that the payment was below threshold and therefore can still infer the payee details are correct. In this case, it sounds like they don't do that (or you got the account details wrong).

- Easy Access Savings Account can be opened with just £1 and gives you access to your money when you need it
- Fixed Term Savings Accounts** offer a higher rate of interest, but you cannot access your money until the fixed term ends.
**Transfer at least £100 within 14 days of opening a 1 Year Term, or £1,000 within 14 days of opening a 15 Month, 2, 3, 4, 5 Year Term.
I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.0 -
