Thank you @elsiepac! Please put me down for an unambitious
£400
for December. Yes, there are only 3 of us here for most of it, but we'll have DS3 (the fusspotarian) back for anything up to 2 weeks, plus DS1 & DDiL for several days and my mother & brother on The Day Itself. The festive food comes out of a separate account that I tuck money into all year round, but there's bound to be a few extra expenses to negotiate! It's also technically a 5-week month for us.Angie - GC Jul 25: £225.85/£500 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)6 -
Count me in, please, @elsiepac, with a budget of £140 for the two of us.
Thank you for running the thread.

My month started on 25th and we've spent just under £60 on a bit of a stock up shop. I need to do a check of the reciepts when I get home and update.

£200 grocery + £100 bulk please as plan to pick up post Xmas YS meat etc.
I will start on the 1st Dec. I will be away for Xmas week at various family but I do now buy my parents FR turkey - so thats £50-£80 depending on the deal I can get (Mr Ald or YS Waitr*e) but thats a gift really
I will do a traditional food party at mine at some point so need to get that organised - I spend £199 in Nov (inc £53 HF) plus some food abroad (was away for 2 weeks!) so £200 sounds OK as I have a full fridge at present.
I have one more HFRESH to get - £24 using £10 off before I can access my £30 credit from them.
Tx @elsiepac hope your 2023 is ending in style.
DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

I was going shopping on Friday but today was more convenient so have started a couple of days early. This month is a funny one. I always work towards the Christmas festivities and then "suddenly discover 5 extra days" we are away from 22nd - 27th December so we wont have any left overs to finish up either.
I did an evening of research last night looking for best prices on branded items. £55.00 spent at Sainsburys. It was £68.00 before the nectar prices were calculated. And another £6.00 spent in Aldi. I also finally reached 300 nectar points which will reward me with 1000 extra for after christmascraft stash 2023 =161, 2024 = 119 2025 = £25.96 spent, 128 made and 5 mended,
