First things first is ring the mortgage company and let them know, communication is key.

  • A new day, they have once again 'escalated' it and they have until 6pm tomorrow to show some signs of life. I said well they ignored yesterday's deadline! I was told to be patient, and that I am not being ignored.

Why is it we can't speak to our case manager directly?? Set themselves up like the wizard of oz or something, who is behind the curtain and why aren't they doing their job??

    Hope everyone is ok xx
  • Oh sammy jammy I didn't see your post. I have borrowed some money from my parents. Who also aren't in a position to have to pay out for UCs failings xx

Thats good news, if they need it back quickly why not get an advance whilst they sort your claim out, its unlikely to be resolved quickly by the sounds of it :/

  • Still nothing, another day almost gone. How does the advance work? Thank you x

why not get an advance whilst they sort your claim out,
OP won't be able to claim a new claim advance payment now because these are only for those waiting for their first payment. I realise that their UC was reduced to zero because the calculation was incorrect but this doesn't entitle them to an AP.

For a budgeting advance then they would need to be claiming UC for at least 6 months, which they weren't because they migrated from Tax credits. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/universal-credit-advances

Yes, but what'll probably happen is that DWP will sort out her correct entitlement for the current AP, but refuse to pay for the previous one where they've messed up. Leaving the claimant with no benefits for another month. In the meantime she should be eligible, and will likely need to apply, for an advance whilst she appeals and battles DWP to get the previous month's entitlement that she's owed.
  • I am in a similar situation, my disabled son is 19 now, still in full time college but they will not pay a penny to me for supporting him. He cannot claim UC as he is at college full time. ?

This thread is nearly a year old, it would be better to start a new thread and explain your situation in full.
