Barclays £175 - How can I apply via the app?

Another question sorry (granted its probably been asked before)

This switch offer is contingent upon signing up for Barclays Blue Rewards. I've joined blue rewards on 23rd of November.  In order to get the £5 'reward', do two direct debits need to go out of my account before the end of the November?  Or would my 'month' be based off the date I joined i.e two direct debits need to go out by 23rd december?

But to answer your query here, the £5 reward for DDs is based, afaik, on calendar months, so unless your two go out asap you won't get it this month. But, regardless of that, the £5 fee won't be taken this month either, so you won't be out of pocket. The £5 fee is taken on the second day of the second month you join Blue Rewards.

Thanks for clarifying.  Two direct debits just got paid moments ago.  So hopefully I've fulfilled the Blue Rewards criteria, which I understand to be;

1) Deposit £800 (which I've since withdrawn)

2) Two DDs be paid

Just an update - your advice on the £5 fee is not correct.  Barclays took a £5 fee.  I only signed up to Barclays and the Rewards in the last week of November yet £5 has been charged on 4th December.

yes but within the context of my question, I was asking would my first month (as in 30 days) attract a fee, to which the answer was no. I've barely been with Barclays a fortnight and already paid a fee.

It is because Barclays base it per calendar month, so whether you join them on the 1st or the 30th you will be charged the fee on the 2nd of the folliwing month.
