DavidAC said:Another attempt to DF Capital has just failed. Then straight after I tried sending the same amount to Marcus. No problem at all, it did not even need an OTP or a pasword, arrived in a couple of minutes. Now I am nervous about DF Capital. Does Santander know something I dont, have I got a bogus sort code. Has anyone else with DF Capital had a problem sending to them?
Sort code checker Sort Code Checker: Find, Identify Bank and Validate Sort Code (sortcodes.co.uk) returns "Df Capital Bank Limited" and
"St. James Building 61-95 Oxford Street
Manchester
M1 6EJ"
I dont feel confident asking Santander over the phone to send it when online they keep rejecting it and on the phone they give me all the warning about not CoP verified, your own risk etc.
I already have a fair bit with them and now I see this of FSCS DF Capital Bank LimitedSome activities by this firm may not be protected
Am I covered by FSCS? I am getting worriedIt has the "Accepting Deposits" permission under Banking. The non-protected activities seem to be around options and futures trading. It is of course your choice as to whether or not to let Santander dictate who else you bank with. It is not really in their interests to help you send money to a rival. It's worth noting that almost all banks will make you go through some extra warnings when sending money in circumstances like this, but other banks generally don't go to the extremes of blocking your account.0 -
That does not mean there is a genuine problem. Link to the website using the address on the FSCS register. Open an account. Set up a bill payment. Send £1. Check that it has arrived. Phone Santander. You have to accept that the payment is at your own risk. Nonetheless, Santander should compensate you if something still goes wrong after you have made all the checks that you reasonably can do.DavidAC said:I dont feel confident asking Santander over the phone to send it when online they keep rejecting it and on the phone they give me all the warning about not CoP verified, your own risk etc.
