Are many banks signed up to this? My online payments to a non COP bank have failed many times this morning and blocked my account twice. My bank said because they cannot confirm the details by COP. Is this a common problem?

The main players are all signed up but not the smaller ones - which banks are you paying to and from?0

Dunno. If I attempt a payment that can't be verified by COP, I just get a warning to that effect which can be overridden and the payment then goes through.0

Santander to DF Capital.0

Bank transfers shouldn't fail simply because recipient institutions aren't COP-enabled, so you'll need to push Santander for a better explanation than they've offered so far. Have transfers from one to the other worked before?DavidAC said:Santander to DF Capital.0 -
NatWest couldn't verify my payment to my newly opened Virgin Money eSaver account, said COP couldn't be verified. If you believe you can, you will. If you believe you can't, you won't.

Quite often (and I think I remember doing with DF Capital in the past) a payment below the minimum is bounced, but they confirm it by email, so you would know the details have been entered correctly on the payee.

Setup as new payee and made a small payment a few days ago. Got all the not COP are you shaw type messages, but it went through. A larger amount went through yesterday. All the problems started today.
Their fraud system blocked it. They said they do not know why, but it could be because it could not be COP verified.0 -
Aren't they only applying CoP checks when you first set up the payee, rather than every time you pay thereafter? In other words, if it worked first time round then subsequent failures can't be CoP related....DavidAC said:Setup as new payee and made a small payment a few days ago.
