Is your bill an actucal reading or estimated?0

You could reduce your use to 2kwh per day and the companies would still want to charge your DD based on passed average usage, You have to know your current usage and ask them to reduce the DD, And if they refuse move to company that will, Usually to Octopus, unless the is a good E7 tariff elsewhere, Tariff not DD.0

Try taking daily readings of the electric and weekly gas readings to see how much you're using. On the billing date send in the readings either where it says readings or email then with your name, address and the readings for electric and gas.
If you have smart meters, even they can be faulty, I used smart plugs to see how much appliances were using each day, week, month and added it up and the rest was from appliances that couldn't be used with smart plugs like the shower, extractor fans and the washer, because it meant pulling it out to fit a smart plug.
If the company is billing on estimated readings a lot of the time they overestimate the usage and this can be by as much as 30% or more, one supplier estimated my gas usage as nearly 700 kWh one January when I had being in hospital from the 28th Dec. too the 5th Feb, when I read the gas meter it had only used 3 units, approx. 34 kWh in the whole time I was in hospitalSomeone please tell me what money is0
