SIM for vehicle tracker

Hi
We are buying a vehicle tracker which needs a SIM. It uses a tiny amount of data so I need an old school PAYG sim which doesn't need a monthly top up. One which just dribbles away over the months. I keep thinking I've found one and it will have 30 days in it's details in some way. There's a Three one on the comparison table on MSE but when I click on it, I'm not sure it is what I need....we are on ee but happy to unlock a phone to pop the card of any network in every 4/6 months to keep it 'alive'. Only looking to spend something like 5 or 10 maximum up front. I thought maybe a freebie sim and then buy a top up voucher but no idea of they expire after 30.days. Long time since I had this kind of SIM so a bit out of touch.
Any thoughts or sim cards to look at appreciated, thanks ☺️

Hi. Rwg is probably the go-to for ovcasional usage payg;
https://www.rwgmobile.wales/webshop/offers/order-a-sim-with-£1-credit-added/
Runs on ee, 5ppm/5ptext/1p per mb
If you go 90 days without making ab outgoing call or text your sim may be restricted then cancelled after 180 days. Unfortunately using data doesn't count.
Other option is tesco lite tariff but price per mb is 10p so a big jump. You would need to pick up a standard tesco sim and then request to change to lite tariff BEFORE you topup.

They run on o2 but of you are using data you shouldn't need to make a call or text iirc.
If you can find one an o2 classic sim is a good bet bit they are not available direct from o2 and there is anecdotal evidence that o2 are beginning to disconnect customers who aren't topping up regularly.0 -
You should be careful as vehicle trackers vary some simple trackers that don’t update very often use a couple of megabytes a month. Others with live tracking will use 500megabytes a month or more.So I would check with the manufacturer.You can get IoT SIMs designed for just this purpose which will cost between 50p to £2 a month depending on how much data the tracker uses and whether you buy a bundle or pay as you go. They don’t need a call or text to keep them alive.0

Cheers both, I will look at those options. The mb use is low, I can't remember the exact amount.
Good options, appreciated."Stay Wonky":D

I use Lebara sims on the MSE offer for 99p a month for 6 months and then swap it for a new one on another 6 month discount deal:
