It would have been even better not to have taken out anything, and spend the money saved on the next dishwasher (or two!).PHK said:
Ironically, it would have been better to take out insurance as there would have been annual reminders and a maximum term of 60 month.eskbanker said:
On what grounds?DullGreyGuy said:If you speak to your bank about a DD guarantee/indeminty claim... they may struggle to believe you over the 144 statements and think its buyers remorse instead but ultimately they should refund you the last 6 months which is better than nothing.1 -
I have just had the same experience (Samsung TV bought in store in Dec-2013). No paperwork from them since that day to this. Each of the £4.50 coming out of the bank account looks like a purchase not a DD so has always been assumed to be one of our family buying something. Currys finally wrote me a letter to say they we moving me from a pay as you go "agreement" (no more detail than that) to a Care&Repair plan. I rang to say that this is the first I have heard of being on a plan of any sort. Quoted their own Ts&Cs which say all renewals will trigger a letter, of which I have had none. Chap had a 2 minute conflab with his boss and offered a full refund. This stinks of a historic mis-selling problem that they had in-stores. Sales people stick the "purchase" of a care plan onto a purchase without the customers knowledge (I have never bought any plan of any type, ever) and collect the commission. Anyway, I hope this helps others. Sounds like Curry's know this happened and are now trawling these schemes and trying to correct the situation.0
