Thanks for the assumption, but it’s not a dealbreaker nor am I choosing a new account based on it. …Flugelhorn said:when they were all raised and there was no contactless they did get a bit worn but you just asked for a new one - not sure I would make it the dealbreaker in which account I had0 -
They may not be bank cards but they rub up against bank cards ..DullGreyGuy said:
But those aren't bank cards so you can just use the wallet for those things that don't support Wallet apps and for bank cards etc just use the phone (on a day to day basis).Horracce said:Hi Vectis, I do use a phone and Apple Watch for payments, but there are cards I have which cannot be used that way .. for example my local bus and train pass ..
Can't remember the last time I took my wallet out, being in London bus/train is all paid for using banking cards anyway.
I like physical cards and a physical wallet because of my lifestyle.. for example, in one of my walking / social groups, I hand over my card to a person to buy some drinks but I wouldn’t hand over my mobile to them …0 -
My Santander card is flat, and my Chase card has has minimal raising of my name (to be honest I'd never noticed it until I ran my finger over it to check today).

Well, these two remain in the wallet. Bank cards stay at home.Horracce said:Hi Vectis, I do use a phone and Apple Watch for payments, but there are cards I have which cannot be used that way .. for example my local bus and train pass ..1 -

Now that Nationwide have new card designs, are Barclays the only remaining large provider with silver embossed card numbers on the front?1

Barclays have changed to non-embossed flat cards for their credit cards, but the debit cards haven't changed yet.PloughmansLunch said:Now that Nationwide have new card designs, are Barclays the only remaining large provider with silver embossed card numbers on the front?

Co-operative Bank (including their Smile brand) also still uses embossing on both their credit and debit cards. Monzo (standard account) and Metro Bank are the same. Those are probably all major providers.
In answer to the OP’s original question, it’s probably easier to list banks which still have embossing rather than those that don’t, as the majority of providers use flat cards now.Embossed debit cards:
Barclays
Co-operative Bank
Smile
Metro Bank
Monzo (standard account)
Cynergy Bank
Fineco Bank
Bankera
Embossed credit cards:
Co-operative Bank
Smile
Metro Bank
First Direct
Tesco Bank
Some NewDay cards
Vanquis
Capital One
Ocean Finance
Some American Express cards2 -
RBS & NatWest are both non embossed.1
