POPLA is just an old dinosaur which government will replace shortly.Gcb1981 said:so to be clear
i just ignore everything and hope it will go. away
and if it doesn’t - i come back here for advice? but what advice would i get?
It is clear that POPLA supports the parking scammers
It really does not matter what POPLA say, the courts don't take any notice anyway. But, this is UKPC, the well know company who take rubbish claims to court
Please tell us what happened to get a ticket
No CCJ or bailiffs. In the meantime you must expect a barrage of letters from idiot debt collectors which you musT ignore, no phoning them.
Such letters come from the sewers and you should flush them back to the sewers via your loo
NEVER PAY THESE SCAMMERS regardless what they say .. OK
If you get a LETTER OF CLAIM then come back here
In the meantime, do not panic, nothing is going to happen before Xmas AND ANY "PERCY FILTH" LETTERS ... JUST LAUGH AT THEM3 -
This isn't going to "go away". However, what will happen is very predictable and if you follow the advice, you won't be paying a penny.Gcb1981 said:so to be clear

What is going to now happen is that you will start to receive debt collector letters, most likely from DCB Ltd. You can safely ignore those as they are powerless to actually do anything as they are not a party to the contract you allegedly breached with UKPC. They are just offering UKPC a free service to scare you into paying, when in fact, they can't make you do anything.
After those debt crawler letters fail to make you pay, you will then receive a Letter of Claim from DCB Legal (same company but different rat-hole). When you get that, you can either ignore it or respond with a snolttogram telling them to put-up or shut up (won't make any difference to anything).
Eventually, you will get a County Court Claim which you respond to as advised in the second post of the Newbies/FAQ thread (which you should have been reading already). You will defend using the template defence with the CEL v Chan transcript and this will be thrown out at allocation stage.
In the highly unlikely event the it isn't thrown out at allocation stage, it will be discontinued by DCB Legal before it ever reaches a hearing, just like in these, over 200 documented cases: DCB LEGAL RECORD OF PRIVATE PARKING COURT CLAIM DISCONTINUATIONS
So, either follow the advice and pay nothing or else capitulate and waste your money by funding the scammers.6 -
thank you all for your help
but it sounds stressful and exhausting…. receiving multiple letters, finally a letter of action, which i then need to defend.
Ultimately i parked on private land. yes i had a very valid moral reason for doing so, but no actual legal reason. i appealed. i failed. and although i am very peed that they disregarded my very real moral reason with supporting evidence…. i think i’m just going to pay up and chalk this up
thanks anyway0 -
You're going to pay UKPC money?
Even though all you do is ignore a few letters then use our template defence and they'll give up?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

thanks anywayYou do realise that you don't have a "fine" it's just a speculative invoice from a bunch of bullying chancers that have got very wealthy conning people don't you? What exactly were the circumstances behind them trying out their scamming tactics?UKPC have been banned in the past by the DVLA on a number of occasions for falsifying or altering documents, and their staff have been caught publishing photos of confidential material on line, but they still hang on in there screwing money out of gullible people. If you give us more info you might get more tailored help times/dates/location/alleged contravention/defective signage all worth sharing. Why would you give up your hard come by cash to a greedy Rupert that has thousands?EDIT:Oh dear I see you have been through all this before in 2018 also with UKPC where you got one cancelled have you done the same again? The advice is still the same though at that time you considered it an insignificant matter "I’d prefer my MP to focus on matters I regard as substantially more important than this".Good luck I'm out!

Re-read all the advice in every contribution to this thread, especially the links given.
This is a money saving website and the contributors know what they are talking about.
Why on earth did you come on here to only then decide you do not wish to save money.
The process these companies go through is a scam in all but name.
Would you go to a "Scams are Us" website for advice.4 -
...and I thought UKPC were intellectually malnourished!
