Worried. Very worried. Popla failed appeal.

my appeal has failed.
so now £100 fine.
what happens if i do not pay? i am a single low income family - i can’t risk bailiffs and CCJ. So given then - presumably better for me to pay?
In which case, my question is…. rather than pay £100 can i just pay the initial reduced rate of £60? and then i’d feel happier fighting them if they come back to pursue the missing £40?
Thank you

Which parking firm? You're a million miles away from a CCJ and no risk of bailiffs, stop panicking. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

if that makes a difference0 -
popla is a third party and my appeal has failed0

bump? i’m pretty desperate0

Why? Just ignore all further letters, including from bailiffs who have as much right to enter your property and remove goods as the milkman does, and only return here if an actual court claim is issued.2
-
There will not be any letters from bailiffs, which can only be appointed on a defaulted court order.
You will get letters from Debt Collection Agencies, which are full of hot air and red ink.
If you get a formal preaction letter with a standard form and a 30-day reply time, then you post again here for advice.
Most of these scam debts never get to that stage. Those that do can be defended.5 -
The fact that your appeal has failed doesn’t come as a huge surprise to anyone here. Par for the course.Gcb1981 said:popla is a third party and my appeal has failedIf they do issue court papers, which is by no means certain, you can defend it with the help of the people on here.If you do still get a judgement against you (very unlikely), then it won’t be for their inflated amounts and as long as you pay within 30 days, there is no judgement recorded against you and it doesn’t impact on your credit history at all.You will get all sorts of letters trying to frighten you and each letter will tell you that you owe more and more and debt collectors will be coming round. Generally speaking that is cobblers and they are just trying it on to scare you into paying. All debt collectors can do his huff and puff and make noise. They have no more legal authority than that.
And whatever you do, don’t phone them because then they will really lay it on with a trowel, and you may say something that impacts on any defence in the future. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.5 -
so to be clear
i just ignore everything and hope it will go. away
and if it doesn’t - i come back here for advice? but what advice would i get?0 -
Not *everything* - if you get a letter stating it is a letter of claim/letter before action then you stop ignoring at that point.Gcb1981 said:so to be clear

the advice you would get is as above - how to defend a case.helpful tips
it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
their - 'owned by them'
they're - 'they are'

Ignore £170 debt demands and please don't post about them here.
Wait for the Court claim form (DCBLegal)
Defend with our help
DCB Legal will of course discontinue.
