Hi

I want to recommend an Easy Access savings accounts to someone (who wont be living and breathing this stuff, never heard of MSE etc)

I dont want to do Metro, Ulster Natwest is 5k min, Cynergy i use also but the authentication app etc can be a PITA and wont recommend to them for this reason, and Beehive has a pretty crap reputation on Trustpilot.

So - any one recomend a easy access account that is consistently good rates so dont need to keep swapping every 12 mths, easy to operate via web or app, and you can open with £1.

My thoughts were Marcus, as they have been great for me...good rates but not the very best...but quick to operate and intuitive UI etc.

Any other obvious choice (with perhaps a better % rate) i should conssider ?
Are Cahoot any good in this respect (good rates, ease of use)??

Cheers!

I don’t take note of Trustpilot myself and am very happy with Beehive, which is Nottingham Building Society.

But Ford are not very quick at withdrawals i.e.withdraw late Friday you won't see it till Monday.
One reason why I keep £1K in my Marcus linked to a secondary current account - pretty quick access if my main current account, which is linked to other savings, is blocked for some reason.

  • Hampshire Trust Bank. Very easy to use and good rates.

Yorkshire BS good for maintaining rates. Withdrawals not immediate but within 24hrs.

Like most of the smaller savings providers, they are easy access rather than instant access.
I think they have improved recently and withdrawals only take a couple of hours but only inside normal working hours.
The customer service, website etc runs smoothly and interest rate changes happen automatically.

It's a bit strange that they prefer you to call to setup any other accounts after your initial account
