My morals are compromised by investing in the stock and bond markets, but I don't have much choice given the way things are set up so ESG vs any other type of funds isn't an issue. When it comes to environmental and social justice issues I take action as directly as I can - like keeping my heating low, recycling, being frugal, riding my bike rather than driving and giving generously to various charities. I also try to keep up to date with the issues and apply my scientific training to make sensible decisions, but I will never buy a Tesla purely because of the guy that owns them.LHW99 said:followed by Tesla at 4.1%I have to say, I do wonder whether EV manufacture (not just Tesla) is actually any better for the environment than encouraging people to keep their existing cars longer.
For example, the damage caused by the extraction of battery materials is significant.
And so we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.1
