DVLA - REGISTERING IMPORTED CAR

And exactly why are they rejecting it?0

You've completed the V55/5, and submitted it with your registration document from the Republic, your UK insurance, etc etc?
Why is it being rejected?0 -
Well they sent back saying I had incorrect identity documents. I had passport and GP surgery letter for proof of address which according to their guidance notes are acceptable. Also when rejected the second time I need to get a GB conversion IVA. I have to go through an agency called VCA for this that are now a total nightmare to deal with. Anyone had dealings with them?Iceweasel said:And exactly why are they rejecting it?0 -
So - this is some kind of non-EU type approved car or maybe a commercial vehicle?Anmers said:

Is there anything else that might be relevant that you didn't mention in your first post?Anmers said:

If you think the ID documents you supplied should have been enough according to their guidance notes, have you asked them for a reason why they won't accept them?
For the GB conversion IVA, don't you just complete a form and pay a fee and send it off? Why the nightmare?0 -
The GP surgery letter isn't acceptable. A medical card is.Anmers said:

A simpler way would be a photocopy of your photocard driving licence which confirms identity (name and address) all in one go.Signature on holiday for two weeks1 -
Medical cards are no longer issued. You now just register with a gp.Mutton_Geoff said:

If you're trying to register a car that's under 10 years old, you need either a certificate of conformity or an IVA.
If it's over 10 years old, it only needs an MOT.
How old is it?0 -
That may be the case but they are still in existence and mine is sitting in a drawer somewhere.Medical cards are no longer issued. You now just register with a gp.
I've just used my photocard driving licence when I've imported cars but the OP may not have one.Signature on holiday for two weeks0 -
That would be because it was issued before they stopped issuing them.Mutton_Geoff said:

I've just used my photocard driving licence when I've imported cars but the OP may not have one.The OP will not have one if he has moved recently, which may be why he is wanting to register an imported car.
Having referred to a doctor’s letter would also suggest he does not have a medical card.1
