I know that your vendors will leave the property early but i would avoid until you know your completion date. My buyers instructed a new provider which then meant my broadband was switched off and i was hit with an early termination bill and no internet for 3 weeks. Thankfully we sorted it but it was a right headache.

There isn't anyone in the property. The owner died and the family (who aren't living there) are selling the property.

Don't.. just get a mobile router, we have been running with one for 18 months with not many issues . It isn't worth the hassle if the sale goes pear shaped
  • I'd also recommend of being wary of signing up for a contract if you haven't exchanged - worst case is you end up not completing for whatever reason and then you are stuck with a contract you can't use. Also less of an issue, but the current owners might need internet for whatever reason and you could disconnect them early and cost them money.

Safest option would be to arrange a backup option anyway, and the mobile hotspot from a phone/mobile router is a fairly good way to do that on a temporary basis.

The OP said its between exchange and completion.

The risk still exists, not every exchange completes (one post on here today), but it's materially lower than before exchange.

Personally I did arrange a fair few things after exchanging with a view of services starting on day of completion or delivered the day after etc

I don't think they have said that.
