Challenges with Nationwide switch

Applied for a switch to nationwide almost 4 weeks ago for switch to finalise for this Friday. Got emails through that switch was all going ahead etc.
However, so far only recieved pin letter. Rang up about card on saturday and they said one had been sent out a while ago but would cancel and send new one. They also send some letter with passcode needed to register for online banking and I still havent had that.
Cancelling switch has to be before 7 days.
I am bit worried I get to thos Friday and still have no card and not registered online account. Any advice?

The usual advice on here is to establish that a new account is fully up and running, and tested as such, before agreeing a switch date - that's more for the benefit of other readers as it's too late for you now, so all you can really do is to hope for the best. Do you have any other accounts that are accessible if things don't go to plan?0

But the fact they havent sent me a card nor online reg number is not my fault.
This is my main account with direct debits etc0 -
I didn't say it was your fault! The point was simply that switchers can take precautions to guard against such issues....sultan123 said:But the fact they havent sent me a card nor online reg number is not my fault.

It is not advisable to switch your main day to day bank account. Instead, you should open a donor account and use that for your switch.sultan123 said:

I know, it's too late now, but the advice is not to switch your main account for some pathetic bonus and to open a spare account for switching bonuses instead. In this case I don't see how a missing debit card and online banking would have affected the switching process (and the bonus).sultan123 said:

What if I open a new account separately and keep some money in there. Switch can go ahead but I have some fall back money in new account?0

Could I open this on the side?0 -
Can you not just withdraw some money before switch goes through to tide you over, the card should be with you shortly I would imagine, if ordered on Saturday.sultan123 said:What if I open a new account separately and keep some money in there.
