Last Minute Shopping??

Hi
Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question but I was wondering if any of you had any experience.

Was thinking of going to my local tesco tonight about half an hour before it closes to see if they have any last minute Christmas bargains or reductions on food etc as an extra treat.

Money is a bit tight this year so thought it might be worth a go or do they not change the prices very much?

Has anyone done this before? If so have you found any good bargains?

Thanks for reading.

I am with you in looking for last minute bargins - still not got the Turkey.

From previous experience there is no hard and fast rules. If they have loads of bread etc left they may start reducing stuff early'ish to make sure staff can get out on time, so if you go in with half hour to go, it could be all gone.

Equally all us vultures tend to congregate looking for the bargains, and sometimes I think the managers wait untill the last minute to make us sweat.
Also, if they have sold out of (dare I say it) Turkeys, then they won't be reducing anything - depends if stores/head office has got their sums right when order in stock.

In the past I have got everything I need already, but then get all the extra luxury bits that any of stores are reducing to clear at the end of the day. That way if you get something its a bonus, if not, well it's no loss.

Happy bargin hunting......ley me know if you see any Turkeys - otherwise I could be doing chicken drumsticks :p

Waitrose had reduced the price on lots of stuff yesterday that was due to be eaten by boxing day. Only problem is, although they do knock afair bit off, their prices are high to start with!!

    Hi

If you want some bargains, don't leave it until the last half hour, go a couple of hours before they close otherwise it's likely you will miss loads.

I was in an Asda at closing on Xmas Eve a couple years ago, about 20 mins before closing all veg was 10p a bag, turkeys under £1. Serious moneysavers were loving it, there were people getting a huge Xmas feast for under a fiver!
