MOLTON BROWN duplicate payments taken

Why is it a joke, their merchant bank has been proactive in preventing possible fraud.
So you now know the reason & the fact they have been working in the background to sort out & find the issue. Not sat on their hands doing nothing. 👍

You actually believe that ridiculous email???born_again said:Why is it a joke, their merchant bank has been proactive in preventing possible fraud.

So Molton Brown simultaneously have "a large number of stakeholders working on this" and yet haven't actually spoken to the bank for a 10 day period.
And their bank put every one of the refunds in fraud review, but then didn't actually review them, or contact the company.
It's either fictitious or grossly incompetent. It seems far more likely that they simply didn't action the refunds (or didn't action them properly).

Because they have lied it's as simple as that.born_again said:Why is it a joke, their merchant bank has been proactive in preventing possible fraud.

I wonder how you would feel. There are people who are waiting for way more money than me, one lady I have been speaking to has had over £400 taken.
You probably would not be so quick to chat if it were yourself in this position.

I don't think you understand how card payments work. When a company charges your card, you see the money go from your available balance. But it hasn't actually left your account . That happens shortly afterwards but can take days.Mrstibbo said:
I do not think you understand they have told me by email and over the telephone that the payment was refunded on the 6/7th November and we still haven't received anything. 🙄born_again said:Some one will have to be looking through all orders & matching off the extra payments. Before they can refund.
The money then goes through a chain of intermediaries such as the banks processor, a merchant bank etc.
So although, you see the money dissappear straight away it doesn't actually reach the company until some time later depending on who they bank with and how many intermediaries there are in between.
The same happens in reverse when they refund. It will take some time depending how many intermediaries are in between. One of the checks the intermediaries make is compliance with money laundering legislation. In this case it seems that the process has been triggered . Its a whole raft of legislation and FCA regulations that financial firms must obey.
So I don't think there's any evidence of Molton Brown being untruthful.3 -
Listen, I know when money has been taken from my account and is not there so no need to explain about card payments to me.PHK said:

Strange how when I have received refunds in the past from other companies there is no waiting for over 2 weeks.
And my last point is they have continually lied to customers over the last few weeks. You was not privy to these conversations or emails sent back and forth between myself and other customers so you do not really understand the full extent of what they have done, unless you are a member of their customer service team.

No, because I understand how the banking system works & the fact I can call the bank get the amount refunded while the refunds are being processed by retailer. Then bank take their refunds back.Mrstibbo said:

I've delt with this many times. Funny thing is the people that are least affected (plenty of money in acc to cover the issue) are the ones that kick off the most.
None of my colleagues have even come across this retailers issue since this thread started, so is not a massive issue payments wise, as far as it goes. When it happens to th.e likes of Tesco, you know about it
As to having shares. I have no idea who tis company is, or what they do... But seems to be a common response that people work at the co or such, when people don't like a answer. 🤷♀️🤣Life in the slow lane5
