Can't call 0800 or 116 numbers from my lycamobile
Hi
I've recently switched to Lycamobile as I live in Bristol and EE/lyca have the best signal here, but EE have awful plans for roaming which I need
Everything has been fine with Lyca, porting my number. I can call friends etc and normal landlines and mobiles
But I have tried to call emergency numbers with 116 and 0800 numbers and non of them work, it just says number not recognised
Any ideas why this could be?
Thanks

They should be usable as both are free.
Their CS is terrible so good luck with getting an answer, as a left field suggestion, try and set your usage limit to £5 if it’s currently at £0 and see if it helps.====2 -
Thanks I didn't know about the hack. God I chose a bad time to change to them. I am a bit worried now, also reading how many people have found it's hard to port out. There just aren't any other that compare when it comes to roaming data. I get 35gb a month in Europe with them.d123 said:delmonta said:HiI've recently switched to Lycamobile as I live in Bristol and EE/lyca have the best signal here, but EE have awful plans for roaming which I needEverything has been fine with Lyca, porting my number. Sorry where do you set your usage limit? With lyca or on my mobile settingsd123 said:delmonta said:HiI've recently switched to Lycamobile as I live in Bristol and EE/lyca have the best signal here, but EE have awful plans for roaming which I needEverything has been fine with Lyca, porting my number. It shouldn’t make any difference but knowing how messed up their systems are I just suspect that it might be barring any non-allowance calls (even though they are free).
edit
thinking about it a bit more, it probably won’t have such a setting as it’s only PAYG, there is no credit element.====0 -
Yeah I can't find it anywhere in the app or the website. It's very weird. But getting through to their customer service is not going to be very fruitful. I'm regretting switching now!d123 said:delmonta said:

If you want to stay with the EE network then take a look at RWG mobile and Nowmobile.delmonta said:

Just to add that Nowmobile aren't anything to do with with Now tv.0 -
You say you get 35gb roaming with lyca, but if you want more allowance, you can get 100gb a month with RWG,(runs on ee), no extra charges when in the eu0

I’d also suggest a look at 1P Mobile, also runs on EE, gets pretty much all the network features (that the others lack) and is probably the most professional of all the EE MVNOs.====0
