Rejected by O2

My wife's Plusnet mobile was being discontinued and she followed my advice to switch to O2 for the roaming benefits. O2 rejected her application without giving any reason. Both she and I have similar incomes, have lived in our mortgage free house for years, have no debts, no defaults, on electoral roll etc etc. In the end IDMobile accepted her.

Right, is there a question here? If not, she just needs to check her credit file, there could be something nasty on there.

Ultimately, it's their loss though I get you'd feel miffed for being rejected. I have an Experian rating of 997 and have had for donkeys' years but still can't get accepted for a Sainsbury's Credit Card, eventually after being turned down 4 times I though "blow them, I'll take my business elsewhere".

Last year O2 would not accept me back, having previously been with them for years.  The reason given was they could not identify my address, though that did not stop them previously.  I ended up going to a different provider.
  • Plusnet is owned by BT not O2 and it’s closing mobile service uses EE’s (also owned by BT) mobile network.
  • Go to Giffgaff, it runs on O2's network.

There are plenty of companies that offer EU roaming. Tesco still do as do Lebara and ID Mobile for starters.

If you to stick with the EE network take a look at RWG.

Just to add - avoid Lyca mobile at all costs.

I was rejected by O2 too
Then remembered that my 'real' name isn't actually J_B - once I'd used my real name, it sailed through.
On the other hand, Lebara were happy to give J_B a contract!
