I do like the idea of the random code generator here for those transferring to Octopus and we would put our code in the hat. That way @MSE_James that could satisfy privacy rules?
@QrizB thanks for posting that.1 -

Wish it was easy.

I spent loads of effort with one family member, she seemed to agree finally but only for her partner to say no not interested even though they were paying double what I pay. But between them they comfortably in top 10% of earners in country so energy costs for them is likely not of any concern. Another is in energy debt so a no go.Might speak to my parents on it although it would just be for the £50 freebie for both of us, wont want to put them on tracker as I dont think they would fully understand it.0 -
If you gas with Shell and Electricity with Octopus, is it possible to “refer” yourself😁0

@MSE_James that's a fair point about privacy and makes sense, thank you.0 -
I am well pleased that I saw the Shell logo at the side of the forum page & read Martin's tip.
I have ( or more accurately had) Shell energy and it would have been moved over to Octopus automatically. Asked round my friends and one is using Octopus so they sent me the referral code and my switch went through today. £50 each. The quote for DD was a few £s cheaper than I currently pay. There is no exit fee so in theory I could switch in a few months.
Thanks MSE
Shame the referrers board has gone because I had a couple of banking deals from other long time forum users.Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

If you search on any social media platform there are loads. Ethically speaking it might be better to go with codes posted by identifiable individuals rather than faceless accounts set up for the sole purpose of coming high up the search results.0 -
A reminder of the forum rules:This includes codes sent by PM.N. Hampshire, he/him. Octopus Intelligent Go elec & Tracker gas / Vodafone BB / iD mobile. Ripple Kirk Hill member.
