Reduced OOD foods in supermarkets.

Ive just returned from my local Tesco where I thought I would check out the reduced section. Having read through the posts on here I thought it would be worth my while. Well I was amazed. I picked up 7 items that I would normally buy. It would have cost me just over £16 for these items usually. I paid £4 something. I am amazed and will definately be checking the reductions on a Sunday again. If I didnt buy them, someone else would have or else they would have been binned by Tesco (which is a sin). All of the items I bought are freezable. Why pay full price when you dont have to! Crazy! Since the cost of food has soared so much and my weekly shop with two twins under three has gone through the roof I will be a regular I think. If it even shaves £10 off my food bill its worth it.0

How are they going to police this. Also would love to know which supermarket.
So if I went in at 10 mins before closing and they had bread and cakes and veggies reduced to clear and I took more than 10 items they would rather take it off me and chuck it in the bin rather than let me take it
Sounds mad to me. As I have said before if supermarkets got there act together and started to reduce the day before there would be no need to reduced down to 10p a item as in two of my local sainsburys. Says she munching on a taste the difference clementine which cost me less than a penny each as the bag was reduced to 10p from £2.49:rotfl:

I got a lovely Extra Special Rack of Lamb in my local Asda last night - reduced from £6.87 to £1.50! Also got 2 lovely spinach-stuffed rainbow trout for £1.00 reduced from £4.94. It's often total pot luck, tbh. The store start reducing stuff approx 2pm but the reductions carry on throughout the day until they get silly near closing time (if anything is still left!). I wonder if I am known as a scavenger? Hope so....;)Call me Carmine....

The chap told him where to go obviously!0 -
Huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge bargain in Tesco Extra tonight. A Roald Dahl Wormy Beard decorated chocolate birthday cake.
Down from £15.00 to 20p!!!!!!
I have no need for a birthday cake, let alone a wormy beard one, but there was no way I was leaving that on the shelf for that money!0 -

A few months back I was walking past the reduced bit and saw these free range organic Yorkshire ham reduced from £3-50 to 35p
I took four packets of the stuff. about 800g :j. Got home and munched a packet with a couple of boiled eggs and buttered baton bread.
An elderly woman and her friend didn't notice them and were glumly looking at the lower shelves so I pointed them out. They looked at them for a couple of seconds before
they:j:j. I think they had a good meal that night too.
I am poor at the moment so can't go past there with out taking a gander. A packet of cheap meat and bread makes a great week.0
