I'm maxed out on my existing DDs to get rewards so need 2 more DDs - preferably £1 ones-  for Barclays, which are the quickest to set up?

I opened moneybox savings account on Monday.  The DD is showing on my account already, I just asked to deposit £1.

An empty credit card DD payment. If the DD is active it will work even if no payment is made.

TFL autopay should work. Especially useful if you never intend to drive in London...
  • PayPal is a good one as can set that up on all your accounts and quickly active.
  • Linked my PayPal account to a DD and added the DD option to my National Lottery account. Both showed up on my FD current account in minutes.
Not planning on buying any lottery tickets, and kept my 'normal' debit card as my preferred PayPal option.

    Moneybox
    Plum
    PayPal
Shuffle around existing DDs for bills - energy, internet/phone, water, council tax, credit cards, etc

I've used https://smalldirectdebit.co.uk/ for a long time, usually sets up pretty fast. Also has yearly direct debits which are good for switch offers, as you will only be charged once a year (and can cancel before the next charge)

I don't think it's particularly quick to set up but Park Christmas savings is good for a cheap DD (not protected by Financial services) I pay £1.60 ish per month and towards the end of the year get 2 x £10 in M&S gift cards through the post. That's their cheapest option. No charges.
I have already received my cards and started 'saving' towards Christmas 24!!!
