I've opened up the advance account and received my debit card. App installed and funds transferred. I've yet to spend 5 times as only just setup now.

The multi currency account I can see within the app. Do I need to move funds into the multi currency account. How do I get the card for this account and the £205.

Assuming you have opened the global account you need to wait for the card to arrive, transfer money into that account and spend 5 times with the card.

From memory: go into the app, open the Global MoneyAccount, then "View more", then "Manage card".  I think that is how you request the card.  You can add funds to the account here (I found it easiest to transfer from the Advance account but you can transfer in from other accounts), you can leave them in £ and spend from there you don't need to convert them to currency unless you want to.
Apologies if this is not entirely accurate but will hopefully point you in the right direction.
  • don't forget you need to spend 5 times with the debit card for the Advance account and then again 5 times with the Global currency card.
If you believe you can, you will. If you believe you can't, you won't.

    Secured/Unsecured loans x 1
    Credit Cards x 8 (total limit £55,050)
Creation FS Retail Account x 1
    Creation Credit Sale 0% x 1 = £112.50pm x 20 mths
    0% Overdraft x 1 (£0 / £250)
    Mortgage Outstanding - £137,707.00 (Payment 13/360)
    Total Debt = £7,400 (0%APR) @ £100pm - Stoozing

And "with the card" can mean online too. 10 x £1 Amazon top-ups (5 on main account, 5 on GMA). And you don't have to wait for the GMA card for that - you can get the card details via the HSBC app.

And the £1500 can be just paid into the normal account not the GM?

In case it helps, I went hunting for exact T&C yesterday and found this -> https://www.hsbc.co.uk/content/dam/hsbc/gb/pdf/premier-advance-global-money-terms-and-conditions.pdf

I think this is correct for the current offer, and I'm making sure I follow to the letter....

The Global money card - I assume this will need to be foreign spending? Are HSBC rates any good. Is this the downside of the offer. (I guess it's still worth £80 even if exchange rate is poor) I generally use my Chase card for foreign spending. Good rate and cash back.

I'm fairly sure you can load it with GBP and just put a few bananas through the self serve at Tesco

The £ to € exchange rate is favourable at the moment, and yes you can use the card to pay in £ in the U.K.
  • Hi all - I have put in £1,500 to my HSBC advance account, downloaded the mobile app, spent 5 times, opened the global account and ordered the card. Should I have received a text that I have completed all the steps? Or does not everyone get this.
