Another DRP Question - Sorry!

Options
Hi everyone. I recently got a letter from DRP about a parking charge. I haven't had any previous letters from them or from Euro Car Parks, despite this letter indicating that it wasn't the first time they had written to me. I PHONED THEM AND NOW THEY HAVE MY NUMBER!! I did this before reading any of these threads because I was so confused as to why they were writing to me. Now they keep calling and leaving automated messages. Can I just block the number and ignore them? Have I committed a mortal sin by calling and asking why they had contacted me? I didn't give them any personal info, they got my number from the caller ID and I haven't given them my email address or anything.
I have read the newbies thread and other extensive threads about this, and see lots of people saying NEVER call them. I did, have I made things worse? I couldn't see this specific question on any of the threads so sorry if this repetitive.
Thanks

  • Well, DRP are to be ignored, pointless, powerless sewer living critters who add fakes and tell lies. Even Euro know that
The only damage you have done is giving money scammers your phone number.

Expect phone calls which you block. If you wish, you can tell them to p*ss off or get  a whistle.

When I get a scam phone call, I let them listen to the radio or TV

Just block the idiots phone number!
  • Thank you - I thought as much from reading the multiple threads on here, but just wanted to make sure as I don't have a ton of experience with things like this.

Check the address showing on your V5C (logbook) as that's the address ECP will have received (and used) from the DVLA.  Please check, don't assume or guess. If it's wrong, you risk a real fine of £1,000 - get it changed asap, can be done online. Ignore DRP.

  • It's the same address I've always lived at, it's just the first letter I've had?

OK, well you must IGNORE DRP, parasites that come from the sewer.

Best idea is to post it back to them, not via the Post Office but down the loo .. it's free and you can ensure prompt delivery
  • I've now had 2 more letters, and this one with the red header "terminal notice pre-legal action" from "Abigale"

Is this still just scam scare tactics? What actual wording on letters should I look out for that means they are actually going to take me to court? I don't want to panic and pay them if I don't need to, but I also don't want to ignore any legitimate legal letters?

    Thanks

Anything from DRP is 'scam scare'. DRP cannot take you to court, only ECP could do that, and as at the time of writing they are very reluctant litigators. Plus, given this is a Morrisons parking charge, I doubt whether Ms would sanction them suing one of their customers. I haven't read back through the whole thread, but, have you complained to Ms and ask them to intervene?  I think there is a portal on their website.

  • I haven't. I didn't receive any letters from ECP in the beginning, then just started getting letters from DRP at the beginning of this month out of the blue. Apparently the parking charge is for back in August but have never had any previous comms before DRP wrote to me. I'll contact Morrisons and see what they have to say? Thanks for the response 👍

Ms are the best of the big beast supermarkets for cancelling PPC parking tickets issued against their customers. If you're nearby, go and see the store manager, taking with you receipts for the day and/or bank/cc statements showing regular patronage. If you have a Ms 'More' loyalty card, take that with you too. Firm, but polite approach.
