4k earnings + 12k interest.
I will file a self assessment return.
I hope it stops the issues other people are having.
I think from memory I can tell them I will get the same amount each year for 5 years in a box at the end.

On my self-assessment form, in box 3 on page TR6, I tick the box.This box says "If you owe tax on savings, casual earnings and/or the High Income Child Benefit Charge for the 2023–24 tax year, we’ll try to collect it through your wages or pension by adjusting your 2023–24 tax code.
If you do not want us to do this, put ‘X’ in the box - read the notes".So they don't ever mess about with my tax code for savings interest. Great !
