My understanding if its fraudulent they cannot hide behind ltd liability, can you access legal advice of your house insurance, we found Citizen advice a bit useless.SeaScapes said:@Oscarmax definitely a fraudulent contract but they've gone bust so we're being told there's nothing we can do!12 x 370 Watt J A panels Solis 3.6 invertor. Agreed - in cases of negligence or fraudulent trading personal liability may be imposed, allowing prosecution or civil action... but proving it might be a challenge if they were registered and it lapsed as the business wound up during install.Oscarmax said:
Certainly one to have some legal advice on, but probably not one to spend a lot of money looking into if it's not included in an existing policy/union membership.I'm not an early bird or a night owl; I’m some form of permanently exhausted pigeon.1 -
@ArbitraryRandom thanks for this, I can't believe someone can just lie, take money then not deliver the agreed service, go bust and walk away. This has affected more than just us, there are several households around us who have been left with the same problems.0

In October 2022 we had a Solax battery fitted by solar company in Uttoxeter Staffordshire, i wont give the companies name.
The installation was excellent that side I have no complaints, however trying to get the paperwork and warranty was a nightmare, the installation carried a 10 year warranty, fortunately they were member of the HIES insurance back warranty, I just sent them copies of the email correspondence, their legal team contacted the company in question, the HIES uploaded all the paperwork and 10 year guarantee the same day.
The lesson I learnt, you are going to fit Solar panels, batteries etc make sure they are HIES registered and don't pay until you have received your HIES warranty registration No.12 x 370 Watt J A panels Solis 3.6 invertor. Solax AC invertor and 5.8 triple battery1 -

Thanks @markin and @The_Green_Hornet, we're with Octopus so I'll get in touch to find out what we can do. Have got an electrician coming to look at the set-up this week so will find out what can be done to sort all of this out.0
