  • visited my Santander branch to open a Certificate Credit Account that they clearly state on-line, but staff denied adamantly that they don't have one ?? can anyone clarify as I find this CD route not straight forward and as easy as it seems, regards

    I recommend you post your question on your own thread and not "hijack" someone elses on an unrelated subject.

    You may also wish to explain what a certificate credit account is as that is not a term that is used in the UK.     Did you mean "certificate of Deposit"?  (also a term not used in the UK but similar wording)?

    In Britain they're usually referred to as fixed term or fixed rate bonds. See below for Santander UK's current offerings but it looks like they can all be beaten elsewhere.
