Hello, yes, it is UKPCpatient_dream said:WOW, the first £294 is a scam from QDR lete alone a double scam of £250
Who is the parking company ? is it UKPC ?
The max in court is £50 for solicitors costs WHICH is included in the £294
Your defence is not good and do not ignore. There is a lot more with these claims than these foolish legals imagine
You are in court soon, so do not assume what a Judge will do
Personally I would like to see a copy of the claim, if you can. REMEMBER to redact your information including the court password.
Coupon-mad will be along soon to show you all is no lost .... IS IT UKPC ?0 -
I will look in my office at work tommorrow for the PoC0

The only "costs" you are liable for should you lose the claim would be the £35 hearing fee and fixed solicitor costs of £50. Any added "costs" the claimant is asking for, such as the £60-£70 added damages/debt collection fee should not be allowed as it is a "small claim". However, they add these illegal costs in the hope that the defendant either panics and pays up because they are terrified of "court" because they have been watching too much "Rumpole of the Bailey" or, more likely, they get a default judgment because the defendant has no idea how to defend a claim.
In the very unlikely event you lose a claim and receive a CCJ, as long as it is paid in full within 30 days of the judgment, it is expunged from your record as though it never existed.1 -

Thank you - so on what you've seen so far - I can expect a reasonably positive result, given a knowledgable judge?
Or will my lack of knowledge lead to a punishing loss?0 -
You say that your hearing is "next week". Have you filed your Witness Statement? I suspect that if you haven't, you are too late to do so as the court usually requires all submissions and documents to have been filed no later than 14 days before the hearing.
Have you produced and filed a WS? Depending on what is in the PoC, you could possibly have relied on CEL v Chan to get it struck out but that is going to depend on whether you have submitted a WS.
It may just come down to how sympathetic the judge is to your lack of knowledge about how you were supposed to defend this.2 -
I doubt the OP has even logged a WS2

UKPC ? the bringers of rubbish claims as the other fella legal ... DCBL has found out to their cost
Sorry, I forgot to include Uncle Tom in the best advice brigade.
He is mean ...... but is fully capable of smashing up a low life legal like QDR WHO are only an offshoot of shoot of the discgraced Wright Hassall solicitors
And .....sorry not to mention all the other esteemed members on here who are also capable of smashing the ring of scam
BAD ADVICE TO IGNORE ... when you can win and claim your costs

Can't find the PoC.
Surely you understand that the PoC state exactly what you need to defend yourself against.
How on earth can you 'lose' that?
Witness Statement?? Evidence??1 -
Think it is at my desk - will look tommorrow.KeithP said:Can't find the PoC.

Filed a defence, didn't know I had to file a WS - as I say, novice at this.
The PoC basically stated 30 min overstay in a 2 hours car park, from memory. I'll get the exact wording tommorrow. Thanks for all your assistance.0 -
Sounding more and more like I should just pay up the original fine in advance.0
