    As an retired police officer (of Rank) the nephew should know better (although some officers seem to use the job for a power trip and then can't let go) and I hope it comes back to bite him on the backside somehow.

    If the eviction was illegal, then I can see that the OP may not be able to get back into the house. But, would it be possible for the OP to sue to nephew for the OP's reasonable costs?
