Adding Driving Licence number to Car Insurance Quote requests

Hi, I'm confused why we in Northern Ireland are unable to enter our driving licence numbers on any insurance quotes. Why do they only allow British licence numbers??

There's a data sharing agreement between insurance companies and the DVLA, which is naturally only applicable to GB licences. As far as I can see there is no equivalent agreement with the DVA - at least not yet.
