How was the car paid for? Bank transfer? Any finance?

Do you have evidence of the car being returned?

    How much was the car?

If it's financed, then contact the finance company who'll have a lot more sway in getting money back from the dealership. If you paid it all by bank transfer then try the bank.

Failing that, you can always send them a Letter Before Action, telling them if the money isn't paid within 7 days you'll take them to court.

The month's tax is pretty much gone, but it shouldn't take as long as 6 weeks', that's just the worst case.
Paid by bank transfer, deposit by debit card.
Jointly signed a letter accepting the return of the vehicle with a Sales exec who I handed the keys to.

Ombudsman recommend another strongly worded email clearly stating deadline and possible action.
